We have met some incredible people among the sailing community.
Some of them even have websites.

Aldebaran
We met Ryan, Brian and Ashley from Aldebaran in Puerto Lucia, Ecuador. We were impressed. While the rest of us are working on our tans, these young people are working for Reach The World, a non-profit group that connects low-income students with real-time, online adventures. Their website is packed with creative activities for kids and thoughtful exercises for teachers. Check it out.
Xenos
Slater and Julie were our friends back at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Richmond, CA. They've been sailing this 31', steel-hulled Brent Swain down the Pacific Coast, but soon enough they plan to hang a left into the Caribbean.
Willow
Greg and Bonnie are two of the most awesome people you will ever hope to meet. They actually built this junk-rigged boat with their own four hands, inspired by Annie Hill's Voyaging on a Small Income.
Woodwind
Jan and Bruce built this gaff-rigged cutter themselves, and they've taken her through a hurricane. They are truly skillful sailors. What's even cooler is that Bruce earns a living on the water by painting wonderful Caribbean scenes.
Time Machine
Joshua and Cheyenne brought this trimaran down from the Bay Area in style. Cheyenne actually keeps a silver cocktail shaker and martini glasses on board, so that she can produce gimlets on a moment's notice. We have deep respect for this.
Terra Firma
Pat and Carrie are some crazy, fearless cruisers we met in El Salvador. To go from a successful career in electrical engineering to the life of a floating gypsy, you'd HAVE to be a nutcase (in a good way). They qualify.
